Heart words are those readers need to know by heart, or on sight, because they are unable to be decoded. This volume presents four related heart words: "is," "his," "as," and "has." They are used in a fun, decodable story complemented by full-color photographs. Each time one of these heart words in used throughout the text, it is called out, so readers notice it and begin to recognize it. Each word is used frequently in the book to give readers multiple chances to encounter it.
