Phoenix Mercury

One of the WNBA's original eight teams, the Phoenix Mercury was founded in 1997. Although it took the team a decade to win its first championship, the Mercury repeated the feat twice, in 2009 and 2014. The Phoenix team features some of the best players in the sport today--including Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi. Coached by Nate Tibbetts, the Mercury has struggled to win a fourth title but remains a regular contender in the playoffs.
