Dallas Wings
From the Series World War II
The Dallas Wings began their time in the WNBA as the Detroit Shock in 1998. After winning three championships, the Shock started struggling in 2009. Plagued by losses and a poor economy, the team almost shut down entirely. But in 2016, its owner moved the franchise to Texas, where the team was renamed the Dallas Wings. Today, the Wings feature some of the best players in basketball--including Arike Ogunbowale and Satou Sabally. Part of the WNBA series, Dallas Wings tells the story of how this women's basketball team found a new beginning that has led its members to five playoff appearances.
