So how do we create a fair and equitable society on such a shaky foundation? It starts with being honest about our past. This book explores some of the problems that have plagued our society from the beginning. It tackles tough topics like slavery with age-appropriate language. It also celebrates the people who have led the way to fairness and equality. Colorful photographs and bright design elements were carefully chosen to hold young readers' attention.
