According to the Pew Research Center, roughly 84 percent of the world's population identify with a religious group. Approximately 5.2 billion people follow one of these religious groups, with Pew estimating that there are 2.2 billion Christians, 1.6 billion Muslims, 1 billion Hindus, 376 million Buddhists, 23 million Sikhs, and 14 million Jews living in the world today.
