School Library Journal

“Aimed at beginning readers, these books are for children who are seeing these animals for the first time. Photos are large and colorful, but not of exceptional quality. Goats, in particular, uses some odd camera angles, leaving readers with an incomplete picture of the animal. One wonders why it is important to point out that the pupil of a goat’s eye is rectangular. Each title labels one or two parts of the animal, such as comb and wattle. All of the books end abruptly. These titles might suffice as introductions to common farm animals, but they don’t have enough information for basic reports.”
