Series Review: “This series highlights some of the very coolest robots that will catch the attention of young readers. Aside from being awesome, animal bots can be helpful. A snake bot that is small enough to wriggle through rubble can search for victims after earthquakes or bombings. Battle bots are mostly just for fun, but medical and military robots help people by assisting with surgeries and keeping soldiers out of harm’s way, respectively. Space and underwater robots allow scientists to virtually go where they physically cannot, collecting samples and data for further analysis. Vocabulary words are introduced slowly, defined on the same pages as they’re introduced, and then collected in the glossary. The writing is simple and not overly comprehensive, but is ample enough to give curious readers the bot fix they crave. VERDICT A flashy series kids will gravitate toward.”
