Critical Annotation: Elementary students who enjoy learning about the armed forces will like this new title on the U.S. Army. Written in an easy-to-comprehend manner, students gain a basic understanding of what the U.S. Army is all about. The author explains to students that their main job is land warfare. Readers learn how army soldiers are grouped, a little bit about their history, various vehicles used, aircraft, and missions. Reluctant readers and those students interested in seeing armed forces vehicles and equipment will be pleased with the color photographs provided by the author.

Series Comments: This series explores a different branch of the Armed Forces and their respective Special Forces. Thirteen titles have been published as of this review. Recommendations: Would make a good addition to a collection that needs books on the armed forces.
