Library Media Connecton

This series focuses on the creatures of the prehistoric eras. Each volume includes a timeline and map of the world for that time period. On most of the two-page spreads, there is a scale size picture of a child and one of the animals that has been described; each spread also states where the animals lived, but there is no map to help youngsters place that information in today’s context. The colorful illustrations show plants, but the emphasis is on animals. With the unusual words, the lack of pronunciation guide is a glaring omission.
